The Raspberry Tarts' "Fifty-Plus and Fabulous"TM Charity Calendar!
In the summer of 2002, we decided to create a calendar and give the proceeds to a local charity. We found a photographer, and started having fun taking photos.
On Friday, July 4th, 2003, Vice-Regal Mother, Karis, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pat, met with representatives from HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre, who looked over the proofs of some of our calendar photos and discussed the plans. They visited our website and heard stories about our group, all over tea and cookies (naturally!). Sometime later, Karis and Pat left with stacks of brochures, posters and fliers about HopeSpring, as well as a letter of endorsement. It was official! Thanks to the sponsorship of businesses and individuals, publicity from local media, and lots of hard work from the Tarts themselves, the calendar has become a reality. The first 3000 copies rolled off the presses in June of 2004. An Order Form is available on our website. If you would llke a calendar, you can print off the form, fill it in and sign it, and send it to us. Calendars are also available from Calendar Vendors in various locations.
